In August 2015, City Council approved the establishment of a deer management program for the City of Ann Arbor. In adopting the deer management program, the City noted the elevated and increasing deer population in the city and established as the program’s goal the development of information and strategies to address the deer population’s impact on public health, traffic safety, landscape destruction and natural area ecosystems through data collection, public education efforts, and specific actions.
